Hope Unlimited 5 Jan

Description: Females and Males with Administrative, Helps, and Out Front Gifts Who Want a Clean Canvas and an Encouraging Leader who will not Hover or Micro-Manage
St. Louis has a history of ethnic division and strife. Meacham Park is an urban ghetto only 15 minutes from Covenant.

Hope Unlimited Kirkwood is THE ONLY community youth ministry for over 400 children. I grew up in inner-city St. Louis, in a similar neighborhood. My leadership is not based in theory; it is ROOTED in the power of the Gospel, and GROUNDED in the love of saints from other socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, who acted as ambassadors of Christ, and were used by the Lord to reconcile me unto Himself!

Hope Unlimited Kirkwood is not mercy ministry or charity. We are urban missions. We use indigenous missions’ principles. We seek to contextualize the message of Christ. Hope Unlimited Kirkwood’s emphasis is relationship building. We are not against programs; we just know they are not the PRIMARY means to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christianity is relational. The Triune Godhead is relational. We do life with others, and grow relationships. We serve AND we are served. We teach AND we are taught.
The walls of separation by color and money will be destroyed. Help me model the love of Jesus, and the unity of the body of Christ. Step out of your “comfort” zone, and into your “servant” zone. It starts today.

Qualifications: I need females and males. I need tutors. I need athletes who will help with sports camps and one-on-one training. I need youth workers. I need people who think they have NO GIFTS and have No IDEA what they want to do! I need web site people. I need Administrative people. I need data entry people. I need teachers/preachers. I need social media people to take pics, tweet, post on Instagram, Facebook, etc. I need dancers and choreographers.

Description: East Gate Presbyterian Church (P.C.A.) located in Millsboro, Delaware is seeking an Assistant Pastor. East Gate is a growing congregation located in southern Delaware. This full-time position will have two primary responsibilities along with other ministry duties as assigned by the East Gate Presbyterian Session.

The first primary responsibility is music/worship leadership. This responsibility will require that the candidate have musical gifts and capabilities including the ability to play a musical instrument. The Assistant Pastor will work in conjunction with the Senior Pastor to plan, lead and arrange worship service music and other music that will make up congregational worship.

The second primary responsibility of the Assistant Pastor is leadership of the East Gate Presbyterian youth ministry. These duties are outlined below:

1. Provide primary leadership for the East Gate Presbyterian youth group. This would include overseeing the weekly Wednesday night youth meeting and teaching the Sunday morning youth Sunday School class.

2. Plan and coordinate (along with other group leaders) special group events and outings as well as outreaches to the youth of the Millsboro community.

3. Cultivate a greater connection between the congregation and the youth group that would be reciprocal. Our goal is a congregation that is conscious of and loves its youth and youth who love and minster to the larger church family.

The Assistant Pastor would also be responsible to coordinate similar relationship building for the young women in the group employing the female group leaders.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

A call to ministry is a call to lay down one’s life for Christ’s sheep (John 21:17). For this reason it is assumed and expected that a pastor will be willing to do many things that are not necessarily outlined in a job description. At the Session’s request the Assistant Pastor can expect to be called upon to perform the following duties as reasonable time will permit:

1. Preach in worship services as needed
2. Teach the Bible in various settings
3. Join the Senior Pastor and Ruling Elders in the ministry of visitation

What the Assistant Pastor Can Expect at East Gate Presbyterian Church

We believe the selected candidate will find East Gate Presbyterian Church a place where God is loved and honored. East Gate possesses a strong commitment to Scripture, the Reformed faith, evangelism and church family life.

While East Gate is primarily made up of a middle age to senior citizen demographic, those in this age group are very young at heart and the core group within this demographic works very hard for God. In recent years, God has granted us an increase of younger people and families. East Gate Church reaches a number of unsaved children and families through our youth group, Pioneer Club and summer beach service. Therefore, the Assistant Pastor can expect many opportunities to serve alongside a number of committed people from varied age groups.

One of East Gate Church’s graces is its loving and warm family nature. The selected candidate is sure to find a warm reception and a lot of love and kindness from the church family.

Help for Male with Spinal Cord Injury 15 Feb

I will provide free housing plus a monthly stipend of $600 to a Covenant Theological Seminary student in a University City, MO apartment in exchange for being a roommate. I am a male with a spinal cord injury, and as such, I need a roommate that would be available should I need something at night.

This opportunity could add up to a $1,100 per month, or more, of compensation depending upon your current rent cost per month. This apartment is very near the U City Loop. Within a very short walking distance are the post office, U City library, Washington University, a farmer’s market, grocery store and dozens of restaurants.

This opportunity may begin as soon as possible, depending upon your situation. If you need flexibility on a switch over date, such as regarding existing housing rental contracts, let me know, and we can discuss the situation.

The requirement of this opportunity is that a roommate sleep in a separate area but be available if I would need something, which is infrequent. The so-called “shift” times of responsibility are from 11p-7a. I have been blessed with other seminary students in the past, and there is ample time to get to class at Covenant.

I am seeking at least a 6 month commitment. But a year long commitment would be preferred, which could be longer if desired. Interested individuals can call or email with any questions to better understand the situation. Thank you!

Part-Time, In-Home Child-Care Position 14 Dec 2017

My wife and I are looking for a kind, conscientious, and fun part-time child-care provider to watch our two daughters Matilda (4) and Mabel (2).

A little about our family…
Matilda is a bright, creative, and fun-loving older sister. She is currently enrolled in pre-school at Wash U from 9:00-11:45a (M-F). She loves making elaborate “social art installations” with her stuffed animals and costumes.
Mabel is a verbal, boisterous, “sweet and sassy”, fun-loving little sister. She loves to snuggle and be chased. She is still in diapers and takes a daily nap from 1:30-3:30p(ish).
Jeremy is a covenant grad (M.Div ‘09) and former local pastor (The Journey) who is currently transitioning to a teaching career. Megan is the associate creative director at a local graphic design firm.

A little about the job…
1. We would prefer for you to come to our house (in University City near Washington University), but would be open to the girls going to your place (depending on its proximity to us).

2. We need child-care for 4 days per week starting on January 3 and extending through May 25. The weekly schedule is as follows:
Mondays: 11:35-2:35 (which includes picking Tilly up from pre-school at 11:45 at Wash U)
Tuesdays: 11:35-2:35 (again, includes pre-school pick-up)
Wednesdays: 11:15-1:30 (includes pre-school pick-up)
Thursdays: 1:15-3:30 (no pre-school pick-up, both girls napping the entire time)

3. We paid our last child-care provider $10/hour. We can discuss that compensation as well as food subsidies and pre-school pick-up routines.

4. Our last two child-care providers have both had small children of their own and our girls loved that! So, if you’re a stay-at-home mom who wants to make some extra money during the day by watching two additional sweethearts, this could be a really good fit.

5. Response: If interested, please email Jeremy at jeremypirwin@gmail.com with a resume and/or childcare experience. We can set up a time for an interview or even a play-date.

Dog Sitting/ House Sitting 3 Jan

I am hoping to find a responsible person that loves dogs and would like to house sit for us, a Norwegian Elkhound puppy, almost two years old.

I could be gone for a weekend or later in the spring for 10 days. It must be someone who would feel comfortable in my house, a very safe neighborhood, close to Creve Coeur Park. I would expect the puppy to be walked 2x a day, morning and evening. He is crate trained and loves to play. I have a large fenced in backyard where he loves to play ball.

My hope/prayer is that this would turn into a long term PT job and would be a great handshake for both of us. $25/day, the house/dog will be ready each time for the guest.

Please contact me if interested,
