Full-time Admissions Processing Specialist 28 Oct

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Assistant, the Admissions Processing Specialist is responsible for completing administrative duties within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions providing assistance to prospective students and supporting the Admissions Office in its recruiting efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the limits of University policies, procedures and programs this position is responsible to accomplish the duties as follows:

1. Process student records documents, including applications, ACT/SAT scores, transcripts, letters of recommendation and other documents.

2. Enter data into the University database. This data will primarily be made up of information received as testing scores, transcripts and other admissions documents. This also includes data validation and correction.

3. Manage information in CAMS database, access and route documents in Filebound to appropriate parties and communicate with appropriate office personnel.

4. Calculate GPA’s for data entry and evaluate transfer of credit into the University.

5. Understand and manage the acceptance flow of data and documents.

6. Check and respond to e-mails and voice mails as needed.

7. Other duties as assigned.

8. Work the hours of Monday- Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

RELATIONSHIPS

1. He/she is directly accountable to the Administrative Assistant for the
interpretation and fulfillment of his/her function, general responsibilities, and related authority and relationships.

2. He/she will work closely with other student workers, support staff and admissions counselors. It is essential that he/she maintain an open line of communication with all members of the Admissions staff.

3. It is also essential that he/she maintain an open and mutually cooperative relationship with other offices on campus—particularly with Financial Services, Records, and Athletics. He/she will often work with these offices while completing administrative tasks and assisting students to ensure their questions are always answered in a timely manner.

III. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT CRITERIA

HiSET Tutor 20 Sep

The HiSET Tutor will have two main duties: to help to prepare adults for taking the High School Equivalency test and to tutor high school and middle school students who come in seeking help with homework. Preparing adults for the HiSET Exam will entail identifying where their capabilities in different subjects are and providing individualized guidance to help them succeed in the test. Tutoring students will require general proficiency in at least English, Math, and Science, and working with them to help them understand not only the specific problems, but the concepts behind the problems which they’re struggling with. In the future, this position will also entail training and supervising volunteer tutors.
Specific duties for the job:
• Use TABE testing to assess students’ competency in different subjects
• Teach students, both adult and teen, strategies for dealing with understanding concepts in addition to helping them through specific problems.
• Provide feedback to students’ work and engage with them at an individual level.
• Give presentations to groups of students as needed
• Train and supervise volunteer tutors as the program grows
• Measure advances in student learning and record them
• Identify different self-help resources, and guide people to them in our computer lab

Qualifications: Our ideal candidate is a retired teacher, or someone with substantial classroom experience, although this is not required. The candidate will have to prove general competency in academic subjects, and should be familiar with state requirements. The candidate will be comfortable working with students in groups and individually, will be patient and seek to understand the root of students’ challenges so that they can make more effective interventions in that students’ learning. A teaching certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, and at least 3 years of experience is required.
Hours: The position will be part time (approximately 15 hours a week), with most hours in the evening or on the weekend. The salary will match experience.

Our team is currently seeking a student for on-campus employment. The student will help our team provide corrective and preventative maintenance to on-campus student housing. The student will also help the team prepare vacant housing for new residents.
Schedule: We need someone to work 10-12 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible around school schedules and other commitments. Extra hours are often available during school breaks.

Security/Custodial Position 11 Nov

Security: Supervising students after school by patrolling the hallways and common areas of the building from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. At 4:00 pm begin supervising students in a classroom until 6:00 pm or they are picked up by parents.
Custodial: Careful cleaning of assigned areas as instructed by the Custodial Supervisor, including mopping, scrubbing and cleaning fixtures in restrooms, and locker rooms.

Qualifications: Child care and/or Custodial experience are helpful.

Part time Custodian

The custodial department is looking to fill a part-time position. This is an entry-level position. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Work would occur in the late afternoon and night. Applicants must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. occasionally, and 20 lbs. frequently. Standing or walking during most of a shift is typical. Moving heavy furniture and boxes may be required occasionally. Frequent bending and picking up trash on the floor is required.

The purpose of the Grace music ministry is to engage the congregation in worshipping God through song, and foster a biblically-based, Christ-centered music ministry. The Director of Music, with the assistance of the Pastor, will work in cooperation with instrumentalists, the Sound Board Coordinator, and any special musicians or choirs to lead the congregation in worshipping God through song.
