These are housing opportunities in the surrounding community that have been made known to the housing office at Covenant Seminary. If one of these works out for you, please let us know so that we may remove it from the list. You can contact the housing office by emailing housing@covenantseminary.edu or by visiting the One-Stop office on the second floor of Founders Hall.

Covenant Seminary provides this board for the community to post housing opportunities of potential interest to the student body. This list is also made available to those outside the Seminary community. In using this board students, landlords, and any other parties absolve the Seminary from responsibility for any unmet expectations and understand that the Seminary does not endorse the rental property nor the student applicant. Each party is responsible for their own due diligence. Although the Seminary performs some basic due diligence for every ad posted, it is recommended that under no circumstances a renter rents a property that has not been personally toured. The Seminary also recommends that in shared-living/roommate situations, a previous tenant/roommate reference is provided to the potential renter.

To keep this page current, ads are usually removed after 6 months. Also, the housing office may make certain revisions to your ad in order to comply with Fair Housing guidelines.

Carriage house apartment in Ladue 21 May

Large (+800 square feet) and bright one bedroom/l bath apartment with air conditioning, dishwasher, ceiling fans, washer and dryer, hardwood floors, alarm system, free cable, and computer (Wi-Fi) services, off street parking, private entrance but also connects with the main house. Gas heat and hot water, trash pickup and water included.
Electrical service is separately metered and paid by the apartment occupant.
We feel the economic value of the apartment, gas for heating and hot water, cable, and internet services are $1000 a month; however, THIS APARTMENT IS NOT FOR RENT. In exchange for housing, the occupants would work about 20 hours a week divided between gardening and housework. The type of work would depend on the season of the year; i.e. more gardening in spring and fall but would work out to about 20 hours per week in total.
Some examples of housework chores:
- Vacuuming and dusting
- Cleaning baths
- Changing beds
- Wiping down kitchen cabinets
- Mopping tile floors
- Washing windows inside
- Emptying waste cans and putting trash out

- Edging
- Some raking of leaves

- Snow removal
- Dog care is not included in this time but is of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE. Dog care would involve “wrapping around” our schedule and being available to “sit” if we are not home and total care of both dogs when we are out of town. Of course, we would try to give advance notice of our outings to help in scheduling your time, but you must have a flexible schedule for both DAYS and EVENINGS.

Good Shepherd Church in Oakville has a free housing opportunity (all utilities paid) for a seminary student, 2 seminary roommates, or a seminary couple or small family. Parking is available on the church parking lot next to the house. In exchange, we would ask that the student(s) maintain general housekeeping in the home and serve as an intern, applying his or her individual gifts to church ministry and leadership support. The internship would be under the mentorship of Rev. Bruce Clark, MDiv, Ph.D. Good Shepherd is about a 20-minute drive from Covenant Seminary.

Apartment subletting for Summer at Gulf Drive 30 Apr

My wife and I are looking for a subletter for our apartment at Gulf Drive (In Vinita Park) from June 9th to August first, as we will be out of town for the summer. Our apartment is fully furnished, clean, and located next to many seminary students.

We are asking 375$ for the month of June and 450$ for the month of July (both discounted) and that the subletter would pay for electric. We’ll pay the rest of the monthly rent as well as gas. There is a nearly empty basement with washer and dryer. There is also A/C and furniture. If you are moving to St. Louis and waiting on other housing to open, there is decent storage in our basement.

I just moved into a 3BR/2BA rental house near Manchester and 141, and have two empty bedrooms to spare. The total rent is $1400/mo but could be $466/mo if split three ways. Bevo area duplex apartment available 20 Nov 2018

This apartment is located in the Bevo area of S. St. Louis, on Bingham Ave. It is one half of a duplex building – with both units on the same level – no tenants above or below. It is a one bedroom unit with one bathroom. There are four rooms total – including a kitchen, bedroom, living room and dining room. There is also a privately accessed basement that is quite spacious, clean, dry and well-lighted. The basement area is not shared with the other tenant. The floors are all hardwood or ceramic tile. It has central air conditioning, and forced air gas heat. The kitchen range and refrigerator are furnished. The kitchen has an area large enough for a small table; ceiling fan and track lighting and a large pantry. All plumbing and electrical have been upgraded in recent years.

The washer and dryer are supplied. There is a fenced rear yard with a raised garden bed and a large covered front porch. The lawns are maintained on a weekly basis in season and snow removal is taken care of when needed. The entire building is well maintained and impeccably clean. The building is located close to public transportation, grocery shopping, restaurants, post offfice and a drug store.

The monthly rent amount, with an annual lease is $650 per month. The security deposit is $700, and the fee for occupancy inspection is $90 – $1440 gets you moved in. One pet is allowed with an additional $25 fee per month. Smokers and vapers will not be permitted. The monthly lease amount includes the cost for water, sewer and refuse. The cost for gas and electric are the responsibility of the tenant.

A completed application and extensive background check will be required of prospective tenants. This is an ideal location for one or two persons. Several former Covenant and Concordia students have resided here in the past.
