General Information – Please Read

These are housing opportunities in the surrounding community that have been made known to the housing office at Covenant Seminary. If one of these works out for you, please let us know so that we may remove it from the list. You can contact the housing office by emailing housing@covenantseminary.edu or by visiting the One-Stop office on the second floor of Founders Hall.

Covenant Seminary provides this board for the community to post housing opportunities of potential interest to the student body. This list is also made available to those outside the Seminary community. In using this board students, landlords, and any other parties absolve the Seminary from responsibility for any unmet expectations and understand that the Seminary does not endorse the rental property nor the student applicant. Each party is responsible for their own due diligence. Although the Seminary performs some basic due diligence for every ad posted, it is recommended that under no circumstances a renter rents a property that has not been personally toured. The Seminary also recommends that in shared-living/roommate situations, a previous tenant/roommate reference is provided to the potential renter.

To keep this page current, ads are usually removed after 60 days. Also, the housing office may make certain revisions to your ad in order to comply with Fair Housing guidelines.

Room Available for a Female in Maplewood Home 10 Jul

I own a lovely 4-bedroom home in Maplewood, about 15 minutes from Covenant Seminary and live alone. My home is set up with two bedrooms on one level and the other two bedrooms on a second level. The available bedroom is on one of the levels, with mine on another level, so it will be very private. The bedroom also has an attached full bathroom. You would have full access to the kitchen, livingroom, laundry room, front and back porch as well. The rent would include all utilities and wi-fi access. I do not own pets and do not want someone with pets, although I am a pet lover!

My home is close to downtown Maplewood which is walking distance to cute shops, restaurants, grocery store, the Metro and bus. It is only 3 miles from Forest Park with walking and biking trails as well as the zoo, museums and other fun attractions. I know you may be studying a lot, but you may want to take a break now and then!

My name is Paul Webb, formerly employed at Covenant Seminary. I have a rental unit that is available in the Bevo area of South St. Louis.

This place has been the residence of three former Covenant Seminary students. I have spent the last two years in extensive remodeling of the place and it is really quite nice.

It is one half of a duplex unit, both units on the same level. It is a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment. There are also living room and dining room, and a very clean and private lower level. The kitchen is furnished with a refrigerator and gas range. The full-size washer and dryer are newer and are supplied as well. It has central air conditioning, and forced air gas heat.

The hardwood floors have all been recently refinished. The kitchen and bathroom are ceramic tile. There is one room in the basement that could suffice for an office. The kitchen is large enough to eat in – with track lighting and a ceiling fan. The kitchen has a large pantry.

The bedroom ceiling is vaulted, with track and can lighting. A spacious closet in the bedroom with separate linen storage.

The bathroom has been completely remodeled from the framing up. All new plumbing, cabinets and fixtures. Porcelain tile on the shower walls and floor.

The rent with a one year lease is $650 per month, the security deposit is $700. The cost for sewer, water and refuse are covered in the monthly lease amount. I take care of the lawn care and any snow removal. The lawns are mowed meticulously every week. The rear yard is fenced and a vegetable garden bed is available for tenants.

Part Time Nanny w/ Housing 15 Jun

Our friendly family of 5 is looking for a Covenant student or graduate to provide childcare in exchange for room and board plus stipend starting in August 2017. Our sweet little ones are ages 6 ½ (rising first grade girl), 3 (preschool boy), and 2 (toddler boy). They have tons of imagination and love Star Wars, building forts, fashion shows, and driving remote-control cars in the back yard.

Responsibilities: We are looking for childcare 3 full days per week, 1 evening of child care every other week (for date night), and one weekend of childcare every three months. The three days per week are flexible and can be changed depending on class schedule or other needs. The oldest two children attend school during the week, so some driving to drop off and pick up would be required. In addition to childcare, we would like you to cook dinner for the family one night per week (attendance at the dinner is optional).

We have a separate entrance basement living area that is finished and fully furnished with bed, TV area/couch, separate full bathroom and laundry room. We will also provide groceries/meals, Wi-Fi, Netflix, and a desk area for studying.

We are offering a monthly stipend of $550. Our house is located in Fenton at 44 and Bowles Avenue.

Must be good with kids. Must have a clean background check, a vehicle, and love Star Wars. Fort-building skills are a plus.

I am interested in sharing my house with a male student. It is in the city one block south of Page and 8 blocks north of Grace and Peace the PCA church I attend. New Income and Housing Opportunity Beginning June 1st 17 Mar

I will provide free housing plus a monthly stipend of $600 to a Covenant Theological Seminary student in a University City, MO apartment in exchange for being a roommate. I am a male with a spinal cord injury, and as such, I need a roommate that would be available should I need something at night.

This opportunity could add up to a $1,100 per month, or more, of compensation depending upon your future rent cost per month. This apartment is very near the U City Loop. Within a very short walking distance are the post office, U City library, Washington University, a farmer’s market, grocery store and dozens of restaurants.

This opportunity will begin June 1st, 2017. If you need flexibility on a switch over date, such as regarding existing housing rental contracts, let me know, and we can discuss the situation.

The requirement of this opportunity is that a roommate sleep in a separate area but be available if I would need something, which is infrequent. The so-called “shift” times of responsibility are from 11p-7a. I have been blessed with other seminary students in the past, and there is ample time to get to class at Covenant.

I am seeking at least a 6 month commitment. But a year long commitment would be preferred, which could be longer if desired.
